HDWebTrader's Selling Tips

Below are two ads for the same product. 
Which fenders would you be more comfortable buying online?

There are a lot of differences in the above ads.  Both are selling the same fenders, but the 2nd ad will bring more views and a better price.  We've listed some tips below to help you make your ads better and help your customers feel better about buying your product.

  1. List only Harley-Davidson and custom v-twin parts and accessories.  Others will be deleted with NO REFUND issued.  The one exception is this:  If there is a category for your biker related item, feel free to post it.  Example:  Trailers & Apparel.

  2. Open a Paypal account.  Many buyers and internet users prefer to use Paypal when buying online.  If you need a Paypal account, you can use this link to get one:

    Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

  3. Use a picture.  Better yet, use your 3 pictures that you bought with your ad.  Ads with pictures get SIX times the number of views than those without pictures.  A picture IS worth 1,000 words.

  4. Use Part numbers anytime it is possible.  This lets your customer do some of the checking into what your item will fit.  Use a OEM Harley numbers if you can.  You can put Custom Chrome, Drag Specialties, etc part numbers in the "Other Part Number" category when entering your ad.

  5. Tell what models your part will fit.  Tell buyers what bike the part came off of.  If you know what other bikes it will fit, then tell them. 

  6. Double and triple check your ad.  Spelling errors and sentences that don't make sense kill sales.

  7. Describe your item completely and accurately.  Don't leave questions as to what your item is or what it can be used for.  Answer the questions you would have if you were the buyer.

  8. Carefully choose your item's category.  Remember, buyers will be searching for your item by category and if they can't find it, they can't buy it.  If you are unsure which category an item goes in, Check your Custom Chrome or Drag Specialties Book.  Our categories are very similar to theirs.  Put your item in the same category their's is in.

  9. Choose your words carefully.  Buyers will also be using "keywords" to search out ads.  Make sure that your ad always includes those keywords that will bring the right buyers to your items.

  10. Please keep it clean.  No foul language in the descriptions, no nudity in the photos on HDWebTrader.

  11. Please make sure that your photos are NO LARGER than 100k each.  Resolution should be around 800X600.
